The Sebastopol Area Chamber of Commerce Board presents the 2013 recipients for the annual Community Awards. A contingent of Chamber board members surprised this year’s Citizens of the Year Linda Galletta and Robert Brent at the recent opening reception of their latest gallery show. And surprised they were! They will both be honored for their tremendous work of the new relocation and renovation of the Sebastopol Center for the Arts to the Veterans Building at 282 High St. Also the awards will be celebrated at the new location on Thursday, February 7th from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Other awards recipients to be honored that evening are: Business of the Year K-Tech Automotive; Volunteers of the Year, Tess and Gene Ostopowiez; Outstanding Contributions to the Community, Randy Coffman; Outstanding Public Service, Police Chief Jeff Weaver; Environmental Consciousness, Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation; Service to Youth, Meg Mizutani; Youth Service to Others, Monica Cropsey and Zac Parenti; Service to Seniors, David Aldridge; Humanitarian of the Year, Roger Collins; Beautification of a Visible Site, Eight Cuisine; Business Spark Plug, Sebastopol Entrepreneurs Project; Contribution to the Arts, Bill Yoes and Hall of Fame, Edie Avery. In addition to the awards there will be light refreshments during the reception from 6-7, entertainment, a silent auction and of course the gallery show, “Reflections”. Admission is free although donations at the door to the event and the Chamber’s youth scholarship fund are appreciated. Please also RSVP to 823-3032 so we can anticipate attendance.
