Beelining - the craft and science of locating wild honeybees
Beelining - the ancient craft and science to locate wild honeybee trees; protecting and learning from wild honeybees;
About this event
Beelining is the craft and science of locating wild honeybees. The pursuit is old as humankind and has gained new relevance in a time of the accelerating mortality of managed honeybees. Wild (unmanaged) honeybees on the other hand have evolved as self-sustaining populations and are an essential focus for conservation and research. This hands-on workshop will allow participants to learn and practice all essential tasks of beelining at a location in Sonoma County, CA. We also will provide background info and resources for sourcing all necessary tools. This in-person workshop is limited to 14 people.
