Build a Bat Box
Come and build a home for bats! It can be a gift or for your own yard! Give local bats a beautiful habitat and reduce the bugs in your area and mosquito bites on your arms and legs ;-) Collect the guano for your garden. Learn how to use a few hand and power tools in a safe environment and enjoy the beautiful woodworking space at Chimera. You will go home with a painted, decorated, complete, bat box made from reclaimed/salvaged materials. This class is taught by West! West is a naturalist, science teacher and woodworker, and teaches at local builder's group Dykes With Drills. Materials, tools and paint provided according to # of sign ups. So, please attend if you sign up and if you bring anyone, please make sure they sign up in advance! > Beginners welcome. > Ages 7+ welcome, those under 18 must attend with an adult. Payment: Sliding scale is according to your personal means between $15 and $50. Sign up here with $15 and you can donate more in person if you are able. What to wear: Wear closed toed shoes and clothes you don't mind getting painted. Jeans are ideal. Cancellation Policy: This class has a minimum attendance of 5. **All classes must be canceled by e-mail at info@chimeraarts.org at least 72 hours prior to class start to receive a refund.
