CALIFORNIA TIGER SALAMANDER Terrestrial Ecology Workshop

Herpetologists Dave Cook and Jeff Alvarez will review the biology, habitat, and migration patterns of CTS. The design of roadway tunnels, pitfall trap arrays and monitoring land use management practices will be discussed along with USFWS and CDFW survey protocols. A hands-on experience portion of the workshop will include constructing a pitfall trap and fence array. Field trip portion will include CTS tunnel systems along roadways.
This one-day workshop is designed to
provide practical training to professional biologists, resource managers, and
students on the terrestrial ecology, land use management, and regulations of
the California tiger salamander (CTS).
This
workshop is a companion to the Rare Pond Species Survey Techniques Workshop held on March 25-26, 2017.
