Dirty Cello at Hopmonk Sebastopol
Dirty Cello Smokes the ‘60’s! North Bay based band, Dirty Cello returns to the Hopmonk on March 11 and 12 for the release of their new album Dirty Cello Smokes the ‘60’s! The Dirty Cello band has ranged far and wide across the world playing their high energy mix of blues, Americana and rock, but have always found themselves coming back to the music of the 1960’s, whether they're playing in a palace in Italy, a fish factory in Iceland, or at their favorite north bay venue, the Hopmonk Sebastopol. This new album takes a look at their favorite songs from throughout the 1960’s including Jimi Hendrix’s Purple Haze, Janis Joplin’s Me and Bobby McGee, and plenty more. Led by vivacious cellist Rebecca Roudman, this album hits hard with unique and exciting renditions of songs that will melt your face while keeping your toes tapping. Much of the album was recorded on vintage 1960s era tape and microphones. This 2 night run at the Hopmonk will be both a concert and an experience!
