FACILITATION FOR GROUP DECISION MAKING
A weekend residential course in "Facilitation for Group Decision Making" will be offered starting at 5 pm, Friday, July 11 at the Occidental Arts and Ecology Center. Do you find yourself struggling with meetings, group process and decision-making? Are you frustrated by inefficiency, difficult power dynamics or organizational confusion? Do you want to increase your facilitation and general leadership skills? Democracy in small to medium sized groups is achieved through clear goals, respectful communication and by using an efficient decision-making process that maximizes participation by everyone involved. This weekend workshop will give you practical tools to enjoy more effective and participatory meetings in your non-profit, your business or your community. Topics will include values and goals: democratic organizational structures; consensus and other decision-making processes; facilitation skills; planning for and running effective meetings, the practice of council; conflict resolution; and crafting agreements. The instructor is Adam Wolpert. Lodging and meals are included in the course fee of $475/425 if registered three weeks in advance. For information see www.oaec.org or call (707) 874-1557 x.101.
