Occidental Fall Plant Sale and Garden Tour

The Occidental Arts and Ecology Center will hold its Fall Plant Sales on Sat., August 16 and Sun., August 17 and Sat., August 23 and Sun., August 24. Plant sales hours are 9am - 5pm. Free one-hour tours will be offered at 1 pm each Sunday of the plant sales. Admission is free. In addition, there will be a Member Preview on Friday, August 15, 3 - 6 pm. Those who are or wish to become Plum members ($50 or above) will have an opportunity to be the first to view and select their plants and will also receive a 10% discount. One of the great joys of living in Northern California is that we can garden all year and create fall and winter gardens that are diverse, productive, beautiful and tasty. Now is the time to put fall and winter seedlings into the ground while the soil is still warm! We'll be selling hundreds of open-pollinated, heirloom, and rare varieties - all California Certified Organic - many started from our own seed collection. All have been trialed, tasted, and savored for years in our demonstration gardens and kitchen. This plant sale focuses on the fall and winter crops such as heirloom brassicas (broccoli, cauliflower, kale, cabbage, collards, pac choi), lettuces, salad greens, mustards, chards, fennel, leeks, onions, scallions, and herbs, as well as edible flowers.
