Women in Conversation Event to feature Homeless to Harvard Motivational Speaker Liz Murray An Incredible True Story of Triumph Against the Odds Sonoma Media Investments is proud to announce an inspirational evening with renowned speaker Liz Murray as she shares her extraordinary journey from homelessness to Harvard at The Press Democrat’s annual “Women in Conversation” event on Thursday, May 02 2024 at the Santa Rosa Junior College Burbank Theatre. Doors will open at 5:00 pm. Program will begin at 5:30 pm. Liz Murray’s breathtaking story about overcoming poverty, housing insecurity and extreme adversity to achieve acceptance and academic excellence at one of the top Ivy League schools in the nation has been an inspiration to millions. Lifetime Television produced a movie about Murray’s life story entitled “Homeless to Harvard”, which was nominated for three “Emmy Awards”. Her resilience and determination serve as a beacon of hope and work ethic for individuals facing similar challenges. In addition to Liz Murray’s keynote address, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a vibrant expo experience, including fabulous food trucks, exciting vendors and engaging activities.
