Position Summary:

Under the supervision of, and in conjunction with, TLC Child and Family Services’ THP Housing Director and THP Program Director, the Housing Support position is responsible for supporting and prioritizing THP housing, property and maintenance requirements, and completing repairs. This position also will perform inspections, assist in cleaning and flipping units, and support with youth moves as well as furnishing donation retrieval and disbursement. This position requires ability for physical labor,  flexibility in personal scheduling, and meeting a variety of program needs as assigned on a daily basis.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain grounds and inside units at various residential sites in Sonoma County by completing tasks such as landscaping services, painting, and repairs.

  • Safely and efficiently execute projects and repairs such as patching drywall, unclogging drains, and troubleshooting maintenance concerns reported by residents.

  • Coordinate with vendors as necessary for larger projects and specialized repairs.

  • Respond to urgent maintenance calls during business hours.

  • Track and report on equipment and supply needs.

  • Maintain preferred vendor lists and status of contacts.

  • Upkeep vehicles, tools and equipment.

  • Compile project estimates and submit them for approval to the Housing Director.

  • Communicate with staff, participants, and Resident Advisors regarding housing needs, entry, and maintenance.

  • Organization and scheduling of move outs and maintenance needs.

  • Complete and assess deep move out cleaning of residential properties.

  • Assist with preparing properties for residents including furnishing and painting.

  • Remove items from vacant properties including dump runs.

  • Support with finding furniture and assist with the pick up of donations.

  • Management and organization of storage spaces.

  • Complete walkthroughs to assess properties for damage and safety including annual certifications.

  • Support as needed with general THP Resource Center and office maintenance and safety.

  • Monitoring cleaning supplies closet and requesting supply orders as needed.

  • Completing other tasks as assigned by the Housing Director or Program Director.

Skills:

  • Safe operation of tools and equipment.

  • Proficiency with office and tracking software and technology.

  • Ability to relate with young people and their needs.

  • Ability to work in a team decision-making process.

  • Ability to communicate with staff and supervisors in a timely, respectful and collaborative manner.

  • Ability to take direction and work independently.

  • Ability to clearly express oneself orally and in writing.

  • Ability to make timely decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Obtain and maintain fingerprint, government and agency required background clearances, without additional exemptions.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screen.

  • Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and auto insurance showing employee as an insured driver on the policy.

  • Bilingual preferred.

TLC offers a generous benefit package for full-time staff including: 

  • 100% employer paid health, dental and vision plans for the employee. Dependents would be covered at 50% of the base health plan by TLC, dental and vision would be the employee's responsibility. Coverage is available on the 1st of the month following the date of hire.

Wage Range: $26.81 - $32.98 depending on experience.
