2015 Hall of Flowers Preview Party
Prepare yourself for sweet nostalgia as you travel the rural back roads of Sonoma County’s famous farmland in the Sonoma County Fair’s Hall of Flowers. This year’s theme for the expansive flower show held annually during the Fair is “Barnyard Blossoms,” which goes hand-in-hand with the Fair’s overall theme for 2015. This year’s floral show gives exhibitors the chance to create a rustic impression of how delightful life can be “Down on the Farm.”
With Sonoma County’s heritage deeply rooted in agriculture, this year’s theme brings to mind the simplicity of days gone by and still enjoyed today. Visualize antique fruit crates, farmers markets, farmers market store fronts and more. Themed vignettes named after barnyard animals create a sense of whimsy. Just imagine the fun and sweetness of Cowabungalow, Horsing Around, Pigsty Paradise, Billy Goat Blossoms, Donkey Diggins, Just Ducky, Rabbit Transit, Loose Goose Gardens, Chicken Shack-rila, and Ewe-phoria. Waterfalls, fountains, and special props enhance the experience for a truly charming journey.
This popular pre-Fair social and fundraising event gives attendees the opportunity to be among the first in town to view the spectacular gardens, while sipping Sonoma County’s best varietals, enjoying delicious small bites, and mingling with friends and co-workers. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased in advance at the Fairgrounds Box Office, located at 1350 Bennett Valley Road in Santa Rosa, online at SonomaCountyFair.com, and at the gate on Thursday, July 23. Proceeds from the event support the Hall of Flowers Scholarship Fund for local agriculture students.
