Singer, guitarist, and song sleuth Sylvia Herold (formerly of Cats & Jammers and the Hot Club of San Francisco) masterfully mines the motherlode of American jazz and popular song from the 1930s through the 1960s, from the smooth West Coast jazz of June Christy to the smoky and sassy Peggy Lee. With a voice the San Francisco Examiner has hailed as “mesmerizing,” Herold loves to surprise and delight listeners with her witty and wide-ranging song choices. The ensemble also showcases the skills of highly entertaining fingerstyle guitarist Mike Wollenberg and Chuck Ervin (a Sebastopol Guitar Fest favorite!) on plucked and bowed double bass. Serious? Oh, sure. Sometimes silly? Why, of course!
